The game changing solution to connect container carrier vessels to shore power!

With the AMP (Alternative Marine Power) standard ,firstly implemented in Californian ports, container carriers vessels have been at the forefront of the use of shore power to reduce port emissions for nearly two decades

With “AMP by NG3” NG3 is revisiting the case, offering the first AMP solution which does not rely on medium voltage cable reels to store the ship side cables. This drastically reduce ship side footprint and mass, part counts and avoids any loss in payload capacity while simplifying maintenance and installation. AMP by NG3 can be installed either at the front of the vessel’s accommodation or funnel casing either just above the side ballast tanks. In both cases without any loss of container slot! Clearly AMP by NG3 is the shore power solution you can afford both for newbuilt or retrofit projects!

Main features and benefits

  • No loss of container slots
  • Shorter cabling towards main switchboard
  • Based on simple, sound and reliable mechanical effects
  • Compliant with IEC 80 005 and EC machinery directive
  • Fully protected from environment at sea
  • No rotating medium voltage contacts
  • Optimized cable cross sections to the vessel exact needs
  • No interference with machine mono rail operations
  • Low Maintenance, easily performed by crew
  • Hands off” operations by a single crew
  • Environmentally friendly (optimizes use of steel and copper resources…)
  • Optimized cable cooling compared to cable reel solutions
  • Reduced dead weight
  • Direct coupling to main switch board, no intermediate junction box between IEC connectors and breakers
  • No modification of hull structure
  • Easy installation both for Newbuilt and Retrofit
  • Can be fully winterized
