Since 2011, on board no less than 5 other Color Line vessels, PLUG technology has been again selected by Color Line for its Color Hybrid new built ROPAX.
Emission-Free Operations
One unique feature of this vessel will be that all Sandefjord harbour operations will be emission free, the vessel operating on battery as soon as it enters Sandefjord fjord.
PLUG Interfaces
- The vessel will be equipped with two PLUG interfaces: the port one will be used at night berth for slow charging.
- The starboard one will be used for the boost charging of the batteries during the one hour afternoon stop….
Main Requirements
One main requirement was beyond extra sizing of the 11 kV connectors cables to meet the boost phase sequence, was to have a design compatible with the existing quay side interface already used by Color Viking at night since April 2017.
