In 2025, NG3 continues to strengthen its position as a key technology provider for shore power and fast-charging solutions by expanding its PLUG-based portfolio to new vessel segments.
Building on more than 30,000 successful shore power connections performed since 2011, NG3 now offers dedicated solutions for RoPax vessels operating in green corridors, tanker vessels with ATEX constraints, and naval surface combatants.
The latest developments include GREEN PLUG, designed for fast battery charging of hybrid and electric RoPax vessels, FLYING PLUG, enabling safe shore power connection for tankers outside hazardous cargo areas, and NAVY PLUG, tailored to the operational and logistical requirements of military vessels. These solutions all rely on the same proven, fully mechanised PLUG technology, ensuring hands-off operations, rapid connection after docking, and minimal onboard and quay-side footprint.
With this extended range, NG3 addresses the growing demand from shipowners and ports for reliable, compact and cost-effective shore power systems that reduce emissions, noise and operating costs. The company’s approach remains focused on practical deployment, retrofit compatibility and operational safety, supporting the maritime industry’s ongoing transition toward cleaner and more electrified port operations.
