PLUG for Containers Carriers

On container carriers, due to its compactness, PLUG can be implemented within the side passage ways above the side ballast tanks, close to the main switch board so that :

  • HV cable routing is minimized
  • the shore power interface is not interfering with access gangway and accommodation block

if required, for large container carrier, to double the power exchange capability, a second PLUG power port can be implemented in the passage way in front of the next quay side PLUG interface

On the terminal side, due to its compactness, PLUG connector can be implemented in the spare quay fender area between the quay and the ship hull sides. Footprint on the quay is therefore negligible and the system is not protruding above quay level.

If required, NG3 can provide an adaptor between the PLUG interface and IEC standard ones.
