PLUG for Tankers

For tankers, PLUG can be installed at the aft, at the level of the main switch board, away from the cargo hazardous area.

By design , PLUG complies with tankers safety requirements, especially with regard to potentially explosive atmosphere and emergency quick release capability.

On the terminal side, a floating self propelled version of the PLUG connector is proposed, which, combined with a floating power line, allows to reach the vessel power port whose location depends on the length of the vessel and is usually far from the jetty.

For the new generation of Dual Fuel, Diesel Electric Propulsion LNGCs, PLUG offers a unique opportunity to use the vessel power plant to monetize BOG by selling power to the shore power grid.
